Matejovsky received a prestigious FIA prize at gala evening in Monako
- 18.12.2001 -
On stage of Sport Club in Monaco were on Friday the 14th. 12. 2001 the prizes for the best three truck drivers of 2001 season were awarded - from the right Fritz Kreutzpointner (SRT A), Stan Matejovsky (SRT B) and Lutz Bernau (RT) Also the end of the year is for Stan Matejovsky very hectic. After a short visit at Motor Show 2001 in German Essen, where he hold a signing action at SANDTLER stand, at the end of last week he left for Great FIA awarding 2001.

The action took place in Sport Club in Monako on Friday the 14th 2001. Among presented we could see Max Mosley, FIA President and Bernie Ecclestone, FIA Vice - President together with many other celebrities such as Albert, The Prince of Monaco in the lead. These all were presented at the glamorous awarding ceremony in following categories: Formula 1, World Rally Championship, Formula 3000, Cross Country Rally, Sports Car, Regional Rally, European Truck Racing, European Drug Racing, Karting and GT.

Stan Matejovsky was sitting at Czech table together with his girlfriend Jana Prihodova, who obtained the title for the most beautiful hair of the world at Miss Model 2001. With them there were also Mr. Roman Jecminek (The chairman of Autoklub CR) sitting, his son Radek Jecminek (the representative of Czech Karting), a member of the top FIA body Mr. Radek Novak, the head of SAZKA company Mr. Ales Husak and Tomas Enge with his girlfriend. The ceremony started with gala dinner and straight after the FIA awarding took place. The participants had the chance to see short cuts of this season for each discipline on a huge surface screen. After photographing of all awarded public entertainment started. It was very pleasant to talk to David Coulthard, Colin McRaen, Tommy Makienen and other stars of motor sport. After the gala evening Stan Matejovsky went with his team colleague Fritz Kreutzpointner to discotheque, where Fritz K. met with his friend Michael Schumacher and for all of them that became a good opportunity to talk about this season and about many other things.

Stan Matejovsky summed up his impressions of FIA gala evening in a very straight opinion: " I felt like obtaining the famous film Oscar. The top celebrities of motor sport came together. Every time before announcement of the winner in each discipline the hostess came for the appropriate drivers, took them to the backstage and then they were to stepped on the stage. I was standing there with Fritz Kreutzpointner and Lutz Bernau. We got beautiful glass cups and behind us on the giant screen the cuts of races were showed. In those 25 years of my carrier I haven´t experienced more beautiful moment than when my name and the name of the Czech Republic were said and behind me TATRA appeared on the giant screen. My whole life came across my head at that moment. From the first beginnings over the serious car accident in Most after which I had nearly finished all my racing, to this year´s season with the title of European Champion in Super Race Truck B class. I have never passed such a thing and I shall keep the remembrance for the rest of my life. Maybe I will never have the chance to take part in such a gala evening, but that Friday evening and night were another motivation to do everything I can with TATRA in next season to obtain the title again.

Mr Matejovsky taking stock and a new car testing in Most
- 5.11.2001 -
The smart wave of Stan at his presentation and test drive in Most Members of both sides of the Swiss-Czech team Hosserorder arrived on Thursday the 1st of November 2001 at the Most Motor Racing Circuit. The party included both European Champions in the Super Race Truck A and B Class, the German driver Mr Fritz Kreutzpointer and our driver Mr Stanislav Matejovsky. For the trials they had for their disposal the two winning trucks - the Czech "Tatra" and the German truck "Man". Both drivers were very interested in testing the Czech Tatra, as the German truck maker Man might withdraw from next years racing. Both teams used the meeting to discuss their cooperation in the coming year mainly because during this time the individual teams are deciding which truck they will use for the upcoming fight for the title of the European Champion 2002.

Mr Stanislav Matejovsky used the trials to invite his partners and few others to try the position of a co-driver at Most motor racing track. Whilst on Thursday when representatives of the Hesti Prague Company were on the circuit the weather wasn't ideal - it rained slightly, on Friday the sun came out and both drivers could get their monsters going really well. Undoubtedly all invited guests enjoyed it! On both days they had an opportunity to take a ride in the famous racing truck. In cooperation with Auto Skoda Mlada Boleslav the organizers secured two competition cars Skoda RS with 180 HP output. The ones who didn't manage to ride in the competition truck could try out a real gem in the shape of Skoda Special along with the new European Champions Mr Stanislav Matejovsky and Mr Fritz Kreutzpointer. Even the winner of the "Motor Sport Today " magazine competition Mr Frantisek Volenik from Most had the opportunity to try both the cars.

At the end of the trial session Mr Stanislav Matejovsky and Autodrom Most, held a Gala Evening at Hnevin Castle to thank all who helped him to secure the European Championships title. Everybody received gold and silver commemorative medals issued by Mr Matejovsky's Truck Racing Team. Number of prominent members of the racing and public life attended the party. The team's patron Miss Bara Stepankova and Mr Honza Vancura entertained the guests. Standa's parents came as well to congratulate their son and brought him a present - a cake in the shape and colours of his truck. Later not only Standa but also the rest of his team and other guests were enjoying the cake and it has to be said that the cake was wonderful! At the end of the evening they auctioned the European Champion's driving suite and manage to get 45 000 CzK. This money was donated to the Archa charity and Mrs Chantal Poullain collected the check on their behalf.

Here we would like to thank once again all Czech partners from our team and of course our partners from abroad who were represented through the racing season by our racing cars and supporting technology. We believe that their cooperation with us was of a benefit to them.

Immediate future is filled with preparations for the new season. Nevertheless with the "old " car the team is going to take part in two more prestige programs (the exhibition "Veba" on the 7th November and the exhibition "Fast Wheels" in Lysa nad Labem on the 8th of November). On the occasion of autograph signing Mr Stanislav Matejovsky is going to take part in both programs. On Monday 5th November he is appearing on the TV channel CT1 in the program "Good Morning" and on Thursday 8th November on TV Nova in the program "Barometr". At the end of all this he will finally be able to concentrate on preparations for the new season.

Photographs for this article will be shown in the Photo gallery and in the view of the fact that their collection cannot be completed by the publication of this article, they are going to be added as and when they are available (for instance: The photographs from the Gala Evening at Hnevin Castle).

Stanislav Matejovsky as a guest at TV show "Barymetr"
- 31.10.2001 -
Bara Stepanova, Stan Matejovsky, Pavel Cmiral and director Adamec preparing November issue of Barymetr Stanislav Matejovsky dedicated the time before final test of this year (on circuit in Most in days 1st - 2nd November 2001) to many actions, which inherently belong to the automotive racer life. For example on 19th October he took part in signing drivers action at exhibition AUTO SHOW 2001 in Prague and the next day he appeared as a guest at race EPILOG 2001 in Brno.

Also the next weekend was for Stanislav Matìjovský very enriching. He was as a guest at awards ceremony of "RIA - model of the year" in Prague and also on the Autodrom in Brno (28.10.) at traditional "Champions´ Meeting". Here he participated in for him untraditional disciplines such as riding a bike or driving a scooter. Nevertheless the meetings and discussions with colleagues were much more important. And there was obviously some time left for signing actions. In one of them Tomas Enge took part as well (see photos attached in photo gallery)

But the main contents of both days were the preparation works connected to filming the TV show "Barymetr", where Stan together with his team patron Bara Stepanova were reviewing this year season. If he achieve the award to get the " Bara´s meter" or not you may see for yourselves on 8th November 2001 on TV station NOVA.

Fans of competing truck TATRA JAMAL EVO II will get their chance to see it in November at testing on circuit in Most, at promoting event of VEBA on 7th November in Broumov as well as at the second year exhibition RYCHLA KOLA ("Quick Wheels") taking place in days 8th - 11th November 2001 at exhibition ground in Lysa nad Labem.

In Jarama Matejovsky confirmed his title of Champion of Europe by his second place
- 7.10.2001 -
Tatra just before the Sunday race start in Spanish Jarama on 7th October 2001 It was rainy and quite cold on Saturday morning in Spanish Jarama. The circuit situated 28 km north of Madrid has been opened since 1967. 8 Super Race Truck A trucks and 5 Super Race Truck B trucks took part in the race this weekend.

In SRT B class TATRA took part in all three free practices on Saturday and the mechanics worked particularly on tuning the chassis for wet track. In timed practice Stan Matejovsky drove the third fastest time in his class (2:04,455), the fastest was Rehfeld (2:10,009) and the second Noel Crozier (2:10,767).

The team driver of Stan Matejovsky German Fritz Kreutzpointner drove the fastest time in Saturday timed practice (2:04,485), the second was Harri Luostarinen (2:05,139) and the third best time was driven by Spaniard Antonio Albacete (2:05,470).

Sunday qualification was driven in a nice, warm and shiny weather. It was started at 12,20 and drove for 8 laps. Matejovsky started from the second position and kept attacking a leading German driver Rehfeld and in the third lap there the chances taken ended up in a collision between these two drivers. Matejovsky could not start up the engine afterwards and was forced to step out of qualification. The qualification race was eventually won by Hahn ahead of Crozier and Rehfeld. In class Super Race Truck A the team driver of Stan won, and added therefore adding 10 valuable points on his total score became the Champion of Europe 2001 in his class.

For the Cup Race Matejovsky started from the last place, but thanks to his bravuous drive he eventually won the honourable second place, taking over German Mercedeses of Rehfeld and Hahn one by one. We can now proudly say Stan managed to drive in all Cup races of this year FIA European Truck Racing Cup, winning in 5 of them and in 6 of them being the second. The Cup Race was driven for 13 laps, total 50,050 km (circuit in Jarama is 3.850 m long). The total score gained this year was 277 points and Stan won ahead of French Crozier (251 points) and German Rehfeld (221 points). In class SUPER RACE TRUCK A the total winner is Matejovsky´s team driver Fritz Kreutzpointner with a total score of 273 points ahead of Swiss Boesinger (233) and Spaniard Antonio Albacete (228). By these races the successful year 2001 is over - Stan Matejovsky became the Champion of Europe in the prestigious class Super Race Truck B.

The racing TATRA JAMAL EVO II took part in all eleven races without any major damage and collisions and therefore reserve the name of a good vehicle from the widespread motoristic gurus and public.

After the return from Jarama the "fresh" Champion of Europe Stan Matejovsky and his TATRA will participate in a promotional action of Ceska Pojistovna, taking place on Thursday 11th October 2001 in front of the Ceska Pojistovna enterprise in the right centre of regional town Pardubice. And afterwards a large variety of actions for Czech truck racing sport fans and for our partners. About these we will be informing regularly on these pages.

Stan Matejovsky has ensured himself already the Championship title in Lausitzring !
- 30.9.2001 -
Start of Saturday practices on Lausitzring Super modern circuit EuroSpeedway - Lausitz close to Dresden welcomed racing teams with a very friendly warm weather of early autumn and therefore the team tried their "dry" version of engines on Saturday practices.

In category SRT B during Saturday free practices (1., 2. a 3. FP - Free Practice) TATRA appeared not problematic in the matter of engine, therefore some adjustments were made about chassis only. On the contrary Frenchman Crozier went through major problems due to damaged valve on his engine and eventually he had to miss the third free practice to let the mechanics repair this fault. At all Saturday practices the local driver Roland Rehfeld drove the fastest times (2:14.684, 3. FP) and twice with a minimal distance behind Stan Matejovsky (2:14.689, 3. FP), and once German Joachen Hahn.

Timed practice proceeded very dramatically. Practically for the whole time of one hour timed practice Roland Rehfeld drove the best time. At the end the best time was driven by Stan Matejovsky, when about 3 minutes to finish of time practice Stan drove absolutely fabulously the fastest lap in his category Super Race Truck B - 2:13.265! Local driver Roland Rehfeld came in second with the time 2:13.955 and behind him Frenchman Crozier (2:14.477). Matejovsky will therefore start in his category from the pole position for the Sunday Qualification Race.

For trucks SRT A the fastest time was reached by Team driver of Stan German Fritz Kreutzpointner(2:08.709), the second was Bösiger (2.09.022) and the third Spaniard Antonio Albacete (2:09.865).

On Sunday the weather at the German circuit changed and even though it was quite warm, the morning overcast promised always changing weather, proofed over the races.

Stan Matejovsky decorating his Tatra with his trophey for winning in German Lausitzring, which brought him on the post of European Champion in category SRT B Matejovsky started according to his results from Saturday timed practice ahead of Rehfeld and Crozier. Local driver Rehfeld used his so called "homeland" and won the qualification. But the most important was, Matejovsky managed to keep and protect his second position to Frenchman Crozier and did not allow him to lower the point distance. On the contrary, Stan added 9 points for 2nd position in qualification, Crozier just 8, Stan rose the point gap to 35 points and strengthen his leading position before the afternoon Cup Race.

The Cup Race started at 2:45 pm and after one unsuccessful start (collision of Luostarinen in the first curve in the truck pack) it had to be repeated. When the Race started again after some 20 minutes it started to rain heavily. The whole race was driven in rain, convenient to Stan Matejovsky, who managed to keep his second starting position till the end and drove very well in Super Race Truck B class. Rehfeld won the Race, Matejovsky the second and the third the German Joachen Hahn. Noel Crozier was classified for the forth place and loss his chance to overtake Stan Matejovsky in the total grading and to reach the Championship title. The European Champion next week in Spanish Jarama will be, never-mind the results there, the only Stan Matejovsky, who owns nowadays 262 points, the second is Noel Croziér with his 222 points.

In class Super Race Truck A the team driver of Stan Fritz Kreutzpointner won and in the total he added on his account 30 points (now 243 points in total) and dramatically leads ahead of Markus Bösinger (213 points) before the last race. Antonio Albacete, being on the third place has after the races in Lausitzring 204 points.

The Cup Race was driven for 12 laps, in total 54,456 km (circuit in Lausitzring is 4534 m long). Matejovsky drove this race in the average speed 111.329 km/hr in total time 29:20.793.

Stan´s team sets for journey to the last destination of Spanish Jarama close to Madrid on Monday, directly from Laustizring. The driver Stan Matejovsky joins his team in Madrid, coming on Thursday 4th October 2001.

Matejovsky increases his leading ahead of Noel Crozier in Belgian Zolder
- 16.9.2001 -
Stanislav Matejovsky on the winner stages (1. position Roland Rehfeld, 3. position Noel Crozier) The weather on Belgian circuit in Zolder was changing from sunny to more frequent showers from Thursday to Sunday. The temperatures were around nice 15 C, but the surface of the track was changing, so it was very difficult to adjust the chassis right. There arrived 8 trucks from class SUPER RACE TRUCK A and 7 trucks from class SUPER RACE TRUCK B at the races.

During Saturday free practises the mechanics were tuning especially electronic engine control of TATRA truck. All three leading drivers of SUPER RACE TRUCK B - Crozier, Rehfeld and Matejovsky - took turns on the first positions in free practises. In the Time practice on Saturday afternoon drove the best time German Rehfeld, behind him Crozier, who had to change broken brake wheel during hour time practice, and the third best time drove Stanislav Matejovsky.

After Sunday Warm up appeared some problems on the breaking system of TATRA, but the mechanics were able to repair it till the Qualification Race. The qualification was started at 12:20 and Matejovsky placed 3rd position behind Crozier and Rehfeld. Closely before the start of the Cup Race - approximately about 2 hours later - it began to rain heavily again. But before the drivers finished the first lap the rain was over. Matejovsky started from the 3rd position (according to the results of qualification SRT B - behind Rehfeld and Crozier. He was able to - due to excellent starting move - get in front of Crozier, who in the first few laps managed to fall onto the forth place behind German Hahn. Straight after this start Matejovsky started to attack Rehfeld, but in the right angle turning at the finish line they both got into a collision, which ended up for Matejovsky in damaged right side of TATRA, and even worse with a damage of rear right disc and tire. Even though, with such a badly damaged truck he managed to keep the second place and he added total of 23 point onto his account (8 from qualification, 15 from Cup race). Before Matejovsky Rehfeld managed to get into the finish first and straight behind Stan French Crozier, who managed to overtake German driver Jochen Hahn at the end of race.

The Cup Race was driven for 14 laps, total therefore 56,126 km (circuit in Zolder is after adjustments 4009 m long). Matejovsky drove this race in average speed of 111.176 km/hour and the fastest lap was 2:06,672, total time then 33:03,367. By being second in Zolder Matejovsky strengthen his position in total European Truck Racing Cup valuation, having 238 points on his account and leading before French Crozier by 34 points and before German Rehfeld by 67 points. In category SUPER RACE TRUCK A the team driver of Stan Fritz Kreutzpointner was successful in adding 10 points in his qualification onto his account, and for second position in the Cup Race 15 points. In total he has then 213 points and leads ahead of his follower Markus Bösiger by 23 points.

Before taking a part in the tenth European Truck Cup Race in season 2001 we are awaiting a lot of work to get the racing TATRA back to order. For the destination of next race - super modern German circuit in Lausitzring - not far from Dresden) the whole team will leave on Wednesday 26th 9. 2001. The Cup race will be then driven on 30th 9. and due to that this race is from the total view very important and taking place near the border we are expecting a wide range of Stan´s fans from the homeland. What we have already known Bara Stepanova - the team patron and actress will come to support Stan as she has done already at previous races. We all hope she brings the luck again.

Winning in Most took Stan Matejovsky over the imaginary border of 200 points
- 2.9.2001 -
Stan Matejovsky just after receiving the winner´s cup in 8th. Cup race of European Truck Racing Cup in Most On Most circuit on Thursday 30th. August 2001 the beautiful weather was promising lately summer mood. This suddenly changed into nearly autumn rain and cold temperatures on Friday. At that time the first free practices and rides for journalists were taking place. At 4.45pm the first free practice was driven but not finished by Stan´s Tatra due to engine problems. The mechanics had suddenly "all hands" full of work to change the engine eventually just before Saturday practices.

For Saturday free practices Stan set off with a new engine and drove 2nd best time at first and at second Saturday practice in a very heavy rain just behind German Roland Rehfeld. The timed practice was the same and starting pole for Sunday qualifying race was as follows: Rehfeld, Matejovsky, Hahn, Crozier and Ovebrink. In between Rehfeld and Matejovsky Parrish squeezed himself from class Super Race Truck A.

After Sunday morning warm up the new engine appeared to have a certain damage in two cilinders and it had to be repaired again. You can call that "A Time Race" if you desire, but just the nick of time remained before the start of qualifying race when the most necessary repairs were done. The race started at 10.30 exactly and Matejovsky - even he drove with a partially not repaired engine - drove magnificantly. After a hard duel with French Crozier Stan placed on 3rd. Position receiving 8 points, behind Joachen Hahn (D,MB) - 2nd, and Roland Rehfeld (D,MB) - 1st. Behind Matejovsky then Ovebrink (S,MAN) and Crozier (F,MAN). After a difficult qualification the machanics were busy again to prepare the engine for 2 o´clock Cup Race. Before this race Stan Matejovsky managed to organize together with Bara Stepanova (our team patron) and Karel Loprais the autograph-signing for Czech Truck Prix 2001 visitors on spectactor pitch in a tent of TATRA a.s. Koprivnice.

Exactly at 2pm the Cup Race started. Bara Stepanova was till the last moment together with the team of mechanics by the side of Stan´s Tatra directly at starting pole mainly to bring him so honoured and necessary luck for the race start. And it paid off - the start went great. Before taking the first curve after finish line Stan took over Parrish(D,MB,SRT A) as well and left all his competing drivers from class Super Race Truck B behind. The system Start-Finish with a perfectly running engine Stan drove for such an honoured winner cup never mind the fact it was won in front of native spectators on the home field. The second was French Crozeir and the third German Rehfeld. The Cup Race had 12 laps, altogether 50,208 km. Matejovsky drove an average speed 130,207 km/hour and the fastest lap time was 1:54.017, total time then 22:56:227. By winning he certained his leading position in European Truck Racing Cup having 215 point score on his account, leading ahead of French Crozier by 32 points and by 74 points before German Rehfeld.

We were very pleased our team tent was visited over the weekend by more than 400 guests from partner firms and organisations. They and many other spectators could see a really uncredible admirable mechanics´ work. For both days they could also see a great ride of Stan Matejovsky evaluated already by 5th winning in this year truck season. But nothing is decided yet and last three races will be very dramatic as well. The coming race will be driven in Belgic Zolder within 14 days - from 15th - 16th September, where more to final score will be said.

   Most preparations
- 11.8.2001 -
After the return from Finland the whole team concentrates on the imaginary season top, which is obviously the race on CZECH TRUCK PRIX 2001 in Most.

Even the truck of Stan Matejovsky in finish Alastro went through many collisions and therefore suffered large number of scars, it has been already prepared for the testing on the Most circuit. It shall take place in days of 13th - 14th August 2001. We believe we manage to adjust and set the truck optimally and these races will be very interesting. The end of this European truck season is proceeding and the point gaps between each driver promise many dramatical events.

Come and see for yourself on Sunday 2nd September 2001 on Most circuit, where the 8th. Cup Race will be driven (detailed programme can be found under this article). Once again all members of the team take their chance to invite you at this event, mainly the team patron actress Bara Stepanova and the racing driver Stan Matejovsky.

   Races in Finish Alastro
- 5.8.2001 -
Tatra of Stan Matejovsky on the Finish circuit On the Finish circuit at a village of Alastro about 15,000 spectators were in days 4th-5th August 2001 watching the seventh race of European Truck Racing Cup. Surrounded by deep beech forests a 2,721 metres long circuit can be found with a variety of technically demanding curves. In class SUPER RACE TRUCK 13 drivers took their chance to race here and win.

Free practices were driven on Saturday in quite cold weather. Later on heavy rain was falling down at time practice, but Stan Matejovsky didn´t mind and managed to drive the fastest time of all driver in class B. In Sunday qualification race he started off perfectly, but shortly after the start Steve Parish kicked him from the back. Steve had to break even the race for this collision. Matejovsky managed to finish the qualification race on the third position and with a very damaged left rear tyre. Therefore he again got 8 valuable points for the total grading, like at the previous race in Germany.

In cup 18-lap race (49 kilometres), driven on Sunday at 3,30 pm at a fair weather condition, the best start was driven by Crozier and he held the leading position till the end. Matejovsky from the start controlled the second position before threatening German Rehfeld. The final order did not change for the total grading - Matejovsky still leading (187 pionts), the second is Crozier (162 points) and the third is Rehfeld (119 points). Hahr (83 points) and Overbrink (66 points) follow. In class Super Race Truck A drive Markus Bösiger won. Matejovsky´s team driver Fritz Kreutzpointner came in finish the third and still leads the total grading ahead Antonio Albacete.

After return from Finland the racing Tatra will undergo a detailed revision and repairs. After that Tatra starts testing before one of the most important races in the season, taking place on 1st-2nd September in Most - Czech Republic. The invitation with race programme will be on our web sites till 15th August, but we are kindly pleased to invite you all already.

Even in well-known Nürburgring Stan Matejovsky wins !!!
- 16.7.2001 -
Stan Matejovsky is giving an interview for cannal Sport 1 after winning the Cup Race On the famous German circuit Nürburgring more than 200,000 spectators were watching in days of 13th-15th July the sixth European Truck Racing Cup. For this time the racing field was visibly richer than the French Nogaro. In class SUPER RACE TRUCK altogether 15 drivers attended the race. First free practices were driven already on Friday and rainy weather - so typical for this area, warned us even more those days.

Times, driven by Stan Matejovsky on Friday and Saturday practices were ensuring us, the times in time practice will be good. We managed that, but disqualification for deeper tyre cutting, found at 10 drivers - Matejovsky among them - caused that these drivers were sent at the back of starting position at Sunday Qualifying Race. But Stan still managed to win the first position. After the race a protest came and Stan got 15 seconds penalty for dangerous driving (driving without care) and finishes in the whole qualification the third. He added 8 points in the total. Ahead our Tatra, due to the protest, both Mercedeses (Rahfeld and Hahn) got. Behind Tatra is the biggest competitor of Stan Noel Crozier with 6 points and also Boije Overbring (both MAN).

In 17-lap cup race, driven on Sunday at 15,10 with overcast weather, the best start was given by Matejovsky. Several laps in his class he led the first position, then Frenchman Crozier got in front of Tatra and later on German Hahn with Mercedes. They were having a battle on their own for the first position for some laps in class SUPER RACE TRUCK B. Crozier was eventually disqualified (overlooking STOP AND GO). Matejovsky at the end of cup race again obtained the first position and in total points he added another 20 important ones.

In class SUPER RACE TRUCK A Matejovsky´s team driver Fritz Kreutzpointner in Man won. Both driver of team Hasseröder therefore ensured their position in total grading and in team Hasseröder the feeling of satisfaction was held for the whole Sunday evening. Stanislav Matejovsky said on account of his recent results on Sunday press conference: " I needed that. I made my total leading position certain, but I had not won so far. We still have two races to go, one in Finland and one in Most - Czech Republic, where I would like to win most of all.

After the return from Germany the racing Tatra will appear on Friday and on Saturday (20. - 21.7.2001) at exhibition and sale action of partner company HESTI Prague. Afterwards the truck will be prepared for races in Finland Alastaro (4.-5.8.2001).

   Pleasant weekend in Nogaro
- 24.6.2001 -
Stan Matejovsky wins with his Tatra Jamal Evo II the fifth European Truck Racing Cup in French Nogaro In French Nogaro in days of 23rd - 24th June the fifth race of European Truck Racing cup took place on the circuit Paul Armagnac. The less racing trucks managed to come to distant Nogaro the more pleasant relation was offered to racing teams from organizers. What a pity only six trucks took part in class Super Race Truck. With the absence of Mercedes it means just four trucks in class Super Race Truck A and two trucks in class Super Race Truck B.

From the point of view of our team this race meant the perfect test drives, because TATRA of Stan Matejovsky competed its chaser French Noel Crozier. Therefore the teamwork was orientated for further testing of racing truck. TATRA was adjusted for extreme conditions. On Friday during test drives the temperature incredibly reached 40 degrees Celsius, on Saturday on the contrary at the first Free Practice it was just 19 degrees and it was raining.

On Saturday Free Practice the attention of mechanics was orientated mainly to test the chassis and brake system of vehicle in order to obtain the best results. After Timed Practice driven on Saturday from 3.50-4.50pm in class B Crozier was just 0,02 second faster than Stan Matejovsky. Matejovsky with Tatra therefore started from the third pole of starting field, with his big competitor French Crozier with MAN. The same repeated in the finish of Sunday Qualification race and Matejovsky received 9 points and Crozier 10 points for total qualification.

In Cup Race driven on Sunday at 3.40pm again in very warm shiny weather, Matejovsky took off better from the start. Crozier overtook him in second lap and kept it for several laps. In very even race Matejovsky won with very hot shot ride and great technical truck preparation. Stanislav Matejovsky thanks to his Cup Race won in Nogaro certained the leading position in Super Race Truck B and with his 136 points heads before French Noel Crozier with MAN (10 points less).

Driver of Super Race Truck A and team colleague of Stan Matejovsky (Hasseröder Team) Fritz Kreutzpointner (MAN) also won the Cup Race and with his 127 points heads the class Super Race Truck A ahead of Spanish Antonio Albacete (MAN, 112 points).

After return from France the racing Tatra will appear on Brno circuit 27th June 2001 and in Vysoke Myto on 30th June 2001 at promotion actions with Ceska Pojistovna. Afterwards the team will be testing on Most circuit in days of 2nd - 6th 7 and that should be meant such as preparation for one of the biggest races of season - races in famous German Nurburgring taking place 14th -15th July 2001.

   Week full of events ...
- 17.6.2001 -
Giving autographs at BARUM CONTINENTAL spol. s r.o. stand On Tuesday 12th May 2001 the whole team returned from Austrian A1RING to take a stop close to the borderline - in Brno (Southern Moravia), where the Czech driver Stan Matejovsky gave a several autograph actions at partners´ companies such as Barum Continental spol. s r.o., CAC leasing a.s. and PORZELACK at one of the biggest car exhibition in The Czech Republic taking place here under the name of AUTOSALON 2001. While the pilot of competing truck gave poster autographs to numerous guests, even more visitors and fans of truck races were admiring the competing truck TATRA exhibited in front of pavilion B of Brno trade fair ground. From Brno the truck TATRA set off to Tatra manufacture workhouses for necessary repairs and adjustments before the departure to French Nogaro and straight after it was taken out for further promotion actions.

First of all it was admired by visitors and participants of "SEBAK SUPERCROSS CUP 2001" - International championship of The Czech Republic of "125" and upto "250-500/650" cubic cm in Dlouha Loucka by Litomysl (16th June 2001, Eastern Bohemia) and afterwards on Sunday 17th June 2001 , by the visitors of 10th year of AUTO MOBIL SALON 2001 at ice ring stadium in Nove Mesto nad Metuji (Eastern Bohemia).

At all these actions TATRA attracted the deserved attention and members of the team were pleased to answer a full range of questions about high racing technology and in connection to European Truck Race Cup and the great results up to now. The team will take part again in the cup battle this Sunday 24th June 2001 on circuit in French Nogaro, where the team will have departed already on Tuesday 19th June 2001.

The limit 100 points exceeded in the fourth race!
- 11.6.2001 -
Winner stanges from A1 RING The fourth European Truck Racing Cup took place on well-known circuit A1 RING in Austrian Spielberg in the days 9th - 10th June. The biggest action of the year are the races of trucks ( Truck Grand Prix 2001) straight after the races of F1.

Stanislav Matejovsky drove free practice on Saturday well and after final time practise was on the second position for the start on Sunday's qualification's race. The actress Bara Stepanova, a patron of the team, crossed her fingers for Matejovsky on the start of qualification. And her visit really brought the luck. Matejovsky with Tatra started from the fifth line of starting pole behind his big rival Frenchman Crozier (MAN). Matejovsky was finally the first at the end of qualification race and behind him there were Hahn (M-B), Rehfeld (M-B). Crozier was finally on the fourth position.

In the Cup Race, which took place on Sunday at 14.45 with warm weather conditions, Crozier started better and won. Matejovsky obtained 15 points for the second position and with ten points from qualification race got over the limit of 100 points and he is leading in the qualification of class Super Race Truck B. The leader of Super Race Truck A Fritz Kreutzpointner, who has "only" 99 points can just envy Stan´s 107. The interesting thing of score sheet from A1 RING is the same leading of both racers of Hasseröder Team about 6 points in the qualification. Behind Matejovsky there is Crozier with 101 points and Kreutzpointer is followed by Albacete with 93 points. The third position of overall qualification of Super Race Truck B belongs to Rehfeld from Germany with Mercedes with 82 points.

After return from Austria the Tatra appears on Tuesday 12th 6. 2001 on the trade fair AUTOTECH in Brno. There Stan will be giving autographs to wide public in the stand of Barum company (at 11.00 and at 15.00 o'clock). The team leaves on Tuesday 19th 6. 2001 to French Nogaro. Another, already the fifth Cup Race is taking place on Sunday 24th 6.2001.

Matejovsky´s TATRA JAMAL EVO II took part in the International Up-hill race
- 3.6.2001 -
Matejovsky´s TATRA JAMAL EVO II in the International Up-hill race After the return from Italian Misano team mechanics had both hands full of work. They were preparing the damaged TATRA JAMAL EVO II for three nights and days so as to be able to show all its qualities in a full-strength in up-hill races in Rychnov nad Kneznou ( 31. 5. ) and especially in Usti nad Orlici ( Eastern Bohemia ). There the Matejovsky´s team took part in an International up-hill race.

Competing truck TATRA JAMAL EVO II, driven by Stanislav Matejovsky, rode - in cooperation with Ceska Pojistovna - several exhibition rides as an introducing truck before each race. Obtained times of 5-tun competing TATRA ( average around 2 min 35 sec. on a 3.650m-long track with a 350m reinforcement ) could not compete at all with times of trucks specially modified for up-hill races. A great deal of spectators, who came despite quite bad weather ( Saturday - cold and rain, Sunday - cold ) became satisfied.

Now the competing truck TATRA and pit - cars are going to pass through little adjustment. However, one can claim everything is ready for Wednesday departure to well-known A-1 RING in Austria, where the next Cup Race of European Truck ridden Championship, class SUPER RACE TRUCK will be ridden on Sunday 10th June 2001.

   Difficult competition in Italian Misano
- 27.5.2001 -
Stanislav Matejovsky - the winner of the Cup Race in Misano In Italian Misano in days of 26th to 27th May the third race of European Truck Racing Cup took place, with 13 trucks participating in category Super Race Truck.
The tremendous heat in Misano, as well as in Valencia, meant hard time to drivers. Stanislav Matejovsky drove his first Saturday time practise well, when he raced with truck MAN of French Crozier about the fastest lap in introducing practice. In second drive the series of technical problems occurred. These graduated in a major damage of engine, which was necessary to be changed for Saturday time practice. Thanks to skills of Czech and German mechanics (cooperation with MAN), the change was managed just on time so Stan Matejovsky could with missing one time practise get on the track - time practice for this time and slowly with the new untried engine drove the third best time in category Super Race Truck B. Straight after new problems occurred. The gear stopped working. Stanislav Matejovsky stopped the race on the third starting position for Sunday qualification and mechanics had more work to do - the change of gear.

On Sunday the audience got to the number of more than 60 000. And Misano by Rimini prepared more than dramatic show for them. The main role was placed by the tremendous heat again and the competing character of drivers. Worst of all got Stanislav Matejovsky, when he had to go through a difficult collision after Saturday engine and gear exchange (caused by Hahn, who came to excuse himself for it). The accident damaged the whole right side of the truck. The joined teams of mechanics of Tatra and MAN had done sensational work. And it was the one and only Stanislav Matejovsky who won and whose anthem sounded in Italy. The Sunday race was brilliantly started off, the difficult collision was managed smoothly with too ambitious competitor (Crozier in the first lap) and then he just drove for victory with a tremendous time above others.

From Italy the whole team comes back on Monday 28th May, to absolve in days of 2nd - 3rd June 2001 the up-hill races in Usti nad Orlici - after the necessary repairs, obviously. Further races of European Truck Racing Cup will take place on Sunday 10th June 2001 in Austrian circuit A-1 Ring.

Presentation show on Svoboda square in Brno
- 20.5.2001 -
Promotion show in Brno On thursday 17 May one part of Matejovsky team took part in promotion show in the center of Brno organized in connection with Miss Blond of Czech Republic 2001 competition. Jana Prihodova (MISS BLOND WORLD 2000) and Stanislav Matejovsky (TATRA TRUCK JAMAL EVO II driver) were invited as V.I.P. guests to attend this show. The successful Matejovsky TATRA TRUCK was the very dominating next to roadster lent by AAA AUTO PRAHA car bazaar. A famous actress and anchorwoman Bára Štìpánová guided the afternoon program for bystanders. She also became a mascot of the RACE TRUCK and its driver and she promised to attend one of the next races of the European TRUCK RACE CUP.

Immediately after finish of this show the team including the driver moved to Austrian Alps, where, not far from Insbruck, Stanislav Matejovsky would make a few exhibition drives in the range of the famous up to hill races. There are expected up to 10,000 people in case of good weather. After finishing of these races the team will be preparing in Austria and Switzerland for a coming third race of the European TRUCK RACE CUP 2001, which is driven in Italian Misan from 26 to 27 May.

Mr. Stanislav Matìjovský again on winner stages in Valencia
- 14.5.2001 -
Matejovsky´s TATRA scored in Valencia a great success and attracted deserved attention. In Valencia (Spain) in the days 12. - 13. 5. 2001 there was driven second race of European Truck Prix. Also after this difficult race, where had started 9 trucks in class Super Race Truck B and 8 trucks in class Super Race Truck A, is Mr. Matejovsky on the first position in total results of class Super Race Truck B´s drivers.

In Valencia there was - in contrast to previous races in Dijon - big heat. The track is very demanding there with many sharp turns, so both racing days were really very hard. The drivers and the tires welcomed the chance to cool down after an hour of a practice or a race.
Mr. Stanislav Matejovsky had driven Saturday´s practices well and after final Timed Practice he gained wonderful second position for start in Sunday´s - already pointed - Qualifying Race. So he started from the fifth line of whole starting field - it means Super Race Truck´s classes A and B - just behind Frenchman Noel Crozier (MAN). Stanislav Matejovsky with his TATRA had ride a collision with Ludovic Faure´s MERCEDES closely after start of a qualifying ride and Faure had to give up the race in a short time. Qualifying ride was dramatic till the very finish. Finally it was not possible to overcome Frenchman Crozier, so the starting position - this time for Cup Race - was repeated. The first was Crozier and the second Matejovsky.

Stanislav Matejovsky on winner stages in Valencia First race, which was driven on Sunday 13.5.2001 at 13:30, had similar running as previous qualifying drive. After passing the first turn after start Crozier overtook Matejovsky, who followed him after it for all 13 rounds of a Cup Race. Both leading drivers of Super Race Truck B´s class drew apart other drivers, who were fighting for third position and for 12 points for total results. It was especially German Hahn and Rehfeld (Mercedes Benz Atego) and they paid for it in a last but one round where they had a collision.
But also Matejovsky had troubles - in last but one round his gearbox went wrong. In front of the main stands he commuted the race visibly slowly and without engaging the driving position, but still on the second position, which brought him besides 9 points from qualification also 15 points for total results. So he has 53 points after two opening races and he leads the driver´s sequence in class B, behind him there is Frenchman Crozier with 52 points, German Rehfeld with 39 points and Boije Overbrink, who has 34 points after placing the third position in Sunday´s Cup Race.

Matejovsky´s TATRA scored in Valencia a great success and attracted deserved attention. Despite the mechanics will have after this heavy race a lot of work with a truck, all of them believe, that Matejovsky will succeed also in Italian Misan, where the next Cup Race will be ridden on 26 - 27 May 2001.

   Czech Anthem Played In Dijon
- 3.5.2001 -
Tatra in extremely difficult weather conditions in French Dijon. Last April weekend set off the European Truck Racing Cup 2001 in French DIJON, following all new technical and sporting rules. The king class Super Race Truck is divided in two, A and B, starting together but each of them is rated individually and in each shall be the Champion of Europe. The management of team Hasseröder decided our new TATRA JAMAL EVO II shall start in class B, ideal for factory supported teams and class A will be eked out with factory special MAN driven by Fritz Kreutzpointer.

The race took place under extremely difficult weather conditions and our TATRA attracted the attention of audience due to its design and technical features of the truck and obviously after the race due to its driving characteristic features and the final result. Stanislav Matejovsky placed himself in Sunday qualifying race on 2nd position after French Crozier and the afternoon race he won.

Winner of the race Stanislav Matejovsky.

The surprise was caused also by the fact the final lap Stan drove together with strong trucks of class A and he managed to take some over. This is hardly impossible due to restriction to use restrictor ahead of super charger, therefore the engine power is lowered by 13%. For Stanislav Matejovsky this race meant the first cup victory in his recent truck carrier and for the whole team this victory was the best award for high quality winter preparation.

After the races in DIJON the whole team intends to move onto the second race of the serial, taking place in Spanish Valencia in days of 12. - 13.5., where on Saturday we shall be trying further improvement on the truck prepared by specialists from TATRA Kopøivnice.

Tests Of New Truck TATRA On Motor-Racing Circuit In Most Were Successful
- 9.4.2001 -
Tests of TATRA in Most Our HASSERÖDER TEAM finished three-day long demanding tests with new TATRA on motor-racing circuit in Most.

We tried many variations of brake adjustment with assistance of FERODO and KNORR BREMSE technicians. Then there were run many tests with various suspension tuning and tuning of other technical details - which means all, that is necessary ahead races of European Truck Championship 2001.

First results of these tests are more than encouraging. Our racing truck Tatra is now going through last adjustments in Kopøivnice and after that our team will leave for a test set to France, where we intend to stay till the first race taking place on 28th - 29th 4. in Dijon, France.

- 26th March 2001 -
TATRA JAMAL EVO II The second year of European Truck Racing Cup in category SUPER RACE TRUCK Stanislav Matìjovský is heading with a new truck TATRA JAMAL EVO II.

On Monday 26th March 2001 there was at the press conference in Prague, with the presence of Minister of Industry and Trade Czech Republic Doc. Ing.    New Engine MAN In Tatra
- 26.2.2001 -
A new engine MAN for Tatra of Stanislav Matejovsky for the races EP trucks arrived in Germany last Wednesday. It is a top manufacture aggregate, adjusted on brake, which will be installed into the racing truck in nearest future. The team has found a fantastic background in Koprivnice with a great support and possibilities of maximum capacity utilisation of division for research and development of products. A team of approximately twenty people works on the racing truck and transporter, skilled workmen, who work especially on each individual detail according to their rich experiences. At this time the truck is in pieces and all alternations of parts are being processed. The truck shall be slowly put together and at the second half of March it should be taken for the first drive in Koprivnice polygon. Then the tests are to be carried on in Most Racing Circuit. The first race is taking place at the end of April in French Dijon.
The team has a background in Koprivnice, but also in Prague Z-Invest and at Litomysl Technical School. This season we managed to get two major partners so there will be also new colours. The team this year is heading for the winner´s post.

With A New Truck Entering The Season
- 30.1.2001 -
Our car driver Mr. Stanislav Matejovsky will come up into this year´s European truck prix with a new truck, which is nowadays being produced in plant Tatra Koprivnice. At first there were only a few changes to be done, but finally will be Tatra Jamal SRT EVO II (which is the official name) by 90 percent different to Mr. Matejovsky´s last year´s truck.
Designers concentrated on a number of principal modifications. Compared to last year´s type there is above all a change of position of driver, adaptation of position of the axle and cushioning and at last down-flexion of the truck.

New Tatra will bring one indisputable advantage. The pilot will be sitting in the car in a similar manner as in a normal road car and it shall prevent from ill - timed braking or accelerating in case of the slightest hub on a road. That is why the pedals were moved ahead, area of seat was lowered and on the contrary the floor was shifted up. So the foot of driver will not press the pedal from above.
Despite of changes on axles the previous conception was not disturbed. Both rigid axles use 4 endwise arms and track bar for entrapment pushing power, which supports locating in cross direction. Approximation of spiral springs and inhibitors to wheel centre member shall guarantee better cushioning.
Designers allowed the principle, that the most important aggregate of whole truck is the braking system. That is why there was in this sphere the most modern technology known from trucks MAN TG - A with brake lining FERODO used.
For the new truck will be used compressed, water-cooled dozen-litre in line six-cylinder engine with four-ventiled drive OHV. Its capacity is due to over filling of double turbo-compressor with compressed air inter-cooler, which is cooled by admission of water, about 888 kW, when the torgue will reach a value of 4500 N.m.
Important task in construction new Tatra was down-flexion of the truck and better lay-out of its weight. Water tanks were transported from backside to the middle with the view to reduce the weight of the rear.
New truck should appear on test drives in March. First European truck race is on programme on last Sunday in April and it will take place in French Dijon.

Truck Races Will Bring More Attractive Spectacular Event
- 25.1.2001 -
There will be changes in categories. It is counted to start with a frailer category Race Truck and with 2 stronger categories - Super Race Truck A and Super Race Truck B in new season. In category A there will be professional brand teams, in category B there will be teams with brand assistance. There will be also differences in some technical propositions. But races will be very interesting, because categories A and B will ride together.
At the same time the individual process of Prix is influenced by major changes. Instead of 4 pointed rides programme will be conformed to the other motor racing circuit disciplines, especially to Formula 1. Always on Fridays 3 free practises of all categories will take place and on Saturday afternoon 2 measured practises with limited number of laps will be run. Flashing point will come on Sunday. First of all - after the warming-up lap - will be ridden the qualification race and after that the race.

Also in other things The European Truck prix is more and more copying organisation of Formula 1. Present trend is looking towards the idea, the manufacturer shall not prepare the whole truck, but he shall share the individual deliveries of components and ensure the servis before the race. The team on the contrary concentrates on the preparation of parts and body work, which is common for Formule 1. This trend gives the presumption that The European Truck Race will be accompanied by more teams and the starting field will be widen.
The races of trucks on the circuits can be counted among one of the spectators ´ most popular discipline. In visit rating it is standing just behind Formula 1. The Eurosport TV placed European Truck Prix on its sending scheme and it will probably help for expansion of popularity. Therefore the races of trucks shall appear in constant sending time and there will be prepared also reports, which will be profitable for presentation of designers, who are in Truck Prix engaged.
